About

Ha Ha Harvest is a comedy and film festival. Shannan Hunt founded it in Portland, Oregon, as a tribute to comedy there and as a way to support the people who make it. The weekend now happens in Jersey City and Hoboken.

By its eighth year the festival had worked in more than eleven rooms and was giving stage time to comedians and to people who make comedy on film. Volunteers do a large share of the labor. A public weekend can hold late-night variety, a game show, and a benefit for a local group.

Getting to the 2026 weekend

The festival’s visit notes put Newark Liberty about twenty minutes away, and they also name JFK and LaGuardia. NJ Transit covers local rail. PATH reaches both festival cities and Manhattan.

Most rooms are described as a walk or a short ride apart. The same notes put trips inside Jersey City on the Via Jersey City app at about $2.

The published hotel rate is $215 a night at Peachtree Suites in Journal Square. Rooms are described as studios that sleep up to three, near the PATH.

People on the bill have a separate welcome reception at Bergen Hall on Friday, October 2, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The first public show that day is still the 6:00 p.m. film block.

A visitor who wants a place to eat can ask a staffer or a volunteer.

The festival also runs a raffle it describes as tax-deductible, and it asks for donated goods, services, tickets, and experiences.
